Costa Rica

The epitome of nature!

Costa Rica is a small haven of tranquility bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The name of “rich coast” was invented by Cristobal Colon on its 4th voyage, when he saw the impressive gold necklaces of the local natives. Nowadays, the real wealth of Costa Rica is its nature and fauna, which gathers an astonishing 6% of the planet’s biodiversity. The country is small (only 4.7 million inhabitants), but boasts an incredible array of landscapes and ecosystems. With active and dormant volcanoes, lush jungle, crystal clear rivers and waterfalls, clean air, spectacular seabeds and fauna, Costa Rica is a prime ecotourism destination. Since its independence from Spain in 1821, it remains a democracy to this day. In 1948, the government took the extraordinary action of getting rid of its army and chose to reinvest its defense budget into education and the preservation of natural resources. Inhabited by pacifist citizens, Costa Rica was twice awarded the title of happiest country on Earth. “Pura vida!”, as a local saying goes… Contact our DMC and try our expertise in creating exceptional incentive trips in Costa Rica!
